On February 12, 2010, the Missoulian ran a nice article that mentioned the Ranch Club. Here's what it said.
Ranch Club
Valentine’s day dinner at turf’s edge is all about love and aphrodisiac. It could be the chef’s last name “Lovell” that inspired this menu, or just the fact that the Ranch Club dining room is among the most romantic in the city.
Gaze into your honey’s eyes over raw oysters on the half shell, bathed in an avocado cocktail sauce, with horseradish, and grilled lemon, then savor bitter arugula topped with sweet fried bananas, toasted pine nuts, grilled fennel and anise-honey vinaigrette. Entree choices of either butter-poached lobster tail with vanilla-ginger butter sauce and truffle whipped potato with sauteed asparagus, or a thick, juicy fig-stuffed veal chop with black truffle-fried garlic risotto and espresso-spiked demiglace make this a lover’s paradise.
The piece de resistance? A refreshing take on banana split – chocolate tart, banana-vanilla bean creme patisserie, macerated strawberries, port glaze, pineapple salsa and a peanut tuille cookie. Dinner for two is $130. Wines are separate, but ask to see your bottle decanted in one of Ranch Club’s smart and beautiful Riedel glass decanters – which they also sell. For reservations: 532-1019.
